Extremely Satisfied Repeat Customer
I have installed haiku fans, lights and garage lights in my last 2 houses. I have been impressed with their quality build, great customer service and smart home integration. This next generation haiku fan has checked all the boxes for me and more! This is the first time I have installed outdoors and am impressed with everything about the fan. I am not sure about the other reviewers experiences, but my light is extremely bright and looks great. It is a new style for for the light with different materials, but I like the new modern design. I also like that the light has adjustable light temperature in addition to dimming! This is a welcome upgrade! Although it took much longer than expected to produce, I am truly pleased with the final product!

The light is unattractive
I saw another reviewer with the same feedback I wanted to share. The light on the fans makes it look very cheap. These are minimalist fans and the rest of the technology is amazing, but the light looks like Home Depot battery operated quality. Please redesign!!! I have 4 of these fans but Gen 4 is not as sleek.

Cheap looking light
For a residential fan that cost of $2k - why is the light cover/fixture look so cheap??? I have a previous version of this fan but this light fixture looks like crap!

Awesome Fan.
I own 5 of these, one in our home and four in an outdoor patio. All of them are absolutely QUIET. No noise, no hum, they just move air. The fans have worked flawlessly for years. I do wish the remote indicated what the speed setting was, but they can't because one remote operates all fans (pointing at the fan you want to control) and therefore the fans can be at different speeds. When you adjust the speed the fan has a series of Blue LED's that form a bar graph to indicate speed (the LED's turn off when you're done adjusting). This is handy, but to see it you have to be looking up at the middle of the fan. Most of the time I don't even look at the LEDs, I just increase the speed or decrease it as desired.
I am on the BigAss Fans site to buy my 6th Haiku. Summer is coming and the one fan we have that isn't Haiku is in the Master Bedroom, and there is no way I am listening to the awful fan we have in there one more year.
You get what you pay for, and although these fans are pricey, I wouldn't trade one of my Haiku's for 5 of the big box store cheap imports, life is too short.
Regarding a few of the other reviews - I have never had one wobble, make noise, not work, have a cosmetic flaw, or anything of the sort. So far, perfect fans.

Good, not great, very expensive fan.
This is my fourth Haiku fan and the first Gen 4 fan I have purchased.
BAF continues to refine installation process and other than a couple of very irritating things with threading bolts between wiring harnesses these are among the easiest ceiling fans you will ever install.
We love how quiet the fan is, even when at full operating speed. The SenseMe features work, although more on that in a bit. The light is incredibly bright compared to almost any other fan on the market putting out a blistering 1800 lumens which will light even a very large very dim room.
There's a lot here NOT to love though. It's important in weighing the criticisms to recognize that these fans are incredibly expensive (more than a brand new Apple MacBook computer for crying out loud), costing TEN TIMES as much as competing products you can get at big box stores.
Big price tag equals big expectations.
What we don't like about the fan:
The default downlight color temperature is a very blue light that is a dead ringer for a fluorescent light. There's no way to change it from this color without using the BAF app, which is really annoying. Even when you change the color temperature to the "warm/incandescent" setting it is quite a bit cooler/bluer color temp than our older Haiku fans, especially when you dim the fan to a more reasonable 30-50% brightness level.
The styling of the light/lens itself is much cheaper and tackier looking than the previous generation. The previous generation product oozes class, the new one looks like something budget made by Harbor Bay and picked up on sale at Home Depot.
The new Bluetooth remotes have lost a lot of the functionality of the old infrared remotes and are also hard to see in a dim room. You can't set "whoosh" mode, or set a simple timer to shut it off, you have to use the app for those things now.
Speaking of the app, it is very mediocre. Something as simple as "turn on the light automatically AFTER SUNSET" is impossible to do with the app... something that virtually all smart appliances can do these days. As a result you will be adjusting schedules constantly. It's also very difficult to set multiple schedules that will do different things throughout the day. Schedules should be seasonal and based on things like sunrise/sunset but they're not.
The SenseMe features in this fan don't work well for me. The auto light will shut the light off if I'm typing and moving a bit at my desk... you can increase the timeout, but at this price the fan should have a better motion sensor like PID that will detect a human and not just basic movement.
Another fault of SenseMe is that this fan is in an office with a two way fireplace to another room. When SenseMe is enabled we have had shadows from the other room turn the light on at night which is really annoying... so we had to disable those features. Again, at this premium price there are better home automation tech features available to do these things better than basic motion detection.
My final criticism of the fan is that it makes a bit of a lurch noise and movement when it engages or disengages the fan motor. Our older generation ones don't do this. It doesn't appear to be broken it just appears that the speed control on this one is not as smooth and quiet as the previous generation.
TLDR? The fan is good but not great, and some of the changes in this generation seem like they were cost cutting efforts yet the prices of the fans only continue to go up. Based on the limitations we have decided NOT to put two more Haiku fans on our patio, we can't justify the expense for the outdoor location based on the price vs benefit of this new Gen 4 fan.

The absolute highest quality fan
I was fortunate enough to find this company online and purchased one fan to test. I then purchased one for every room in my house. The quality build and integration is unparalleled. Do not hesitate buying online, the company has excellent customer care and even sent out a different color hardware kit for me. Thank you Big Ass Fans.

Problem with Ecobee Integration
Can't get Ecobee Integration to work. I have an Ecobee 3. Haiku I, ecobee, and phone are all on the same 2.4Ghz network and I can't get the Haiku app to add Ecobee Integration. Ecobee and Haiku all have latest firmware.

We put this fan in all our rooms in Arizona. They are quiet and move air. I don't know what else you want in Arizona?! We have product light fixtures on half of them but are not happy with the brightness of the light. About the price, it is what it is because they don't make noise and run and run. We also have them outside and they move air. You get what you pay for in life... right?
I will be purchasing the fans for the property we have in Austin now without the lights, hoping that we can link another light to the fan. Will be contacting the company to see if that's possible.
I saw the review from the "3 star" saying he thought the fan looked cheap. I don't have the wood tone but the white. I think that choice goes well with the ceiling white everyone uses in their homes. If the person didn't like the color, he/she could have returned it and gotten another color.
