I have been looking at Big Ass Fans for a while. I recently renovated a few rooms at my home and decided it was time to purchase two Haikus with the uplight. I bought a 60 inch for my living room and master bedroom. These fans are absolutely incredible.
First, these fans arrive incredibly packaged. The install is a little more complicated than your average ceiling fan but the manual walks you through the steps (follow the order in the manual). Second, once the fan is in place you immediately notice it’s elegance. It looks amazing and does not take up the bulky space of a normal ceiling fan.
The operation of the fans are flawless. The fans are immediately responsive to the remote. The center of the fan (normally where the center light would be) has an LED indicator to show the speed setting of the fan. The fans are very quiet and put out great airflow. At the higher speeds you can hear the air but the sound is not bad. The remote is well made and has a bracket/cradle to mount to the wall. The cradle also has magnets to hold the remote in place.
Finally, the only potential negative of this fan is the price. You’ve got to decide if the look and engineering are worth paying 4 times the price of an average fan. This is no average fan. It is absolutely second to none. If you’re willing to pay for incredible engineering, this is the fan for you.
