Rated 3 out of 5 by from Outdoor fan is nice, though poor control options The fan works really well and provides a nice silent breeze. However, I am disappointed in the remote to control the fan as there is no wifi option for outdoor units. The remote must be in a very close range, and pointed directly at the fan. I find that only 1 out of 3 button presses are registered by the fan, despite precise aim. For such an expensive fan, I would hope for a better control experience. I would gladly welcome either a WiFi control option, or even an RF control option. Better control would make this fan truly excellent. However, I find myself not using it outside as much as I would otherwise, due to this poor control experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unexpected Benefits. Bought the BAF to help cool our sun room which it does by keeping it at least 5 degrees cooler on these hot days in Memphis. We wear a lot of things we don't like to utilize the clothes dryer for. We now put those things on a wooden rack and the BAF does the rest quickly, efficiently and economically. I'd say that is an environmentally friendly benefit to go along with the decreased use of the AC. Sunroom is connected to our den. The BAF unexpectedly creates better air circulation in the den by pushing air out through the connecting dining area/hall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 9th Fan and Counting.... The Haiku 60" is my 9th Big Ass fan. Installation continues to be a "breeze". Support when needed is readily available and top notch. Innovation and quality are what come to mind with every Big Ass fan I've purchased. This is my first 60" and I noticed the difference in air movement vs my 52" fan right away. Visitors comment on the unique look of the fan and how silent it is when working. This fan has the LED light kit and the range of lumens that light presents is amazing. While I'm not a big fan of lights on ceiling fans the look and functionality of this LED kit has changed my mind. Overall I can't imagine why I would look elsewhere for a ceiling fan.

Living in an area where most homes don’t have air conditioning, something needed to change! After seeing one of the large BAF’s at the gym, I decided to see what residential options were available. As soon as I saw the Haiku fan, I knew that was the one for my living room. The installation was easy, everything included (no trip to the hardware store!) and now happily enjoying massive air movement in my living room!!!! So glad to now have not only a fully functional fan that moves the air, the Haiku is a beautiful focal point as you walk into the house.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bought two exterior fans, one wobbles very badly Bought two out door fans expecting, for the price, they would be great for cooling a covered area on my patio - NOT SO MUCH! One wobbles so bad it can not be operated over level 4 for fear of it flying off the ceiling! Both throw a straight column of air and cannot be felt if you are more than 24 inches out from under the fan circumference. In general they seem a lot less efficient than the cheap fans I replaced at about 6 times the cost. They do look neat but that is about all I can say about theme. I would discourage anyone considering them to think long and hard about NOT BUYING them as it appears a far less expensive unit would be far better at the job. I have an inside one as well and it works great but the outdoor models are a HUGE disappointment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Haiku Fan Hired an electrician to install - I'm not very handy. Still figuring out the programming aspect but so far, so great. Whisper quiet no matter the setting and they push air quite well. Initially I was worried about the height - 8 foot ceiling and I'm 6'2, but now I don't even know they are there. I got the white base to blend into the ceiling because with the low ceiling height I didn't want them to jump out. It was a good choice, if I don't say so myself. They look fantastic, are whisper quiet, come on automatically, push air to cool off the room, and best of all, they are made in USA.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No up lighting and not working initially Make sure you speak with someone before ordering. My wanted the included uplighting and we shelled out the extra money for a big ass fan only to not get it. Turns out that our 10 foot ceilings for the lower mounting which doesn’t include the feature. NO WHERE in any of their information does it say this. We could have hopped up to the 10.5 ceiling mount had we known. To top it off, the installation information said we should have had the longer mounting at 10 foot ceiling anyway. The fan also did Not work once assembled and a part needed to be sent so we had to wait about 6 weeks in total to get this fan. At the price point for this fan, we expected things to be more clearly communicated and working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pricey but worth the pennies.... I hesitated for some time before finally ordering a BAF. I am completely happy with my decision and look at it as a long term investment. The fans that came with my house were most likely the original installations and were failing in every way imaginable after 20+ years of use. Amortize the money spent on my BAF over the next 20 years and it makes perfect sense to take the plunge. The fan is super quiet, the upward lighting is perfect and the app is a handy option with advanced features to compliment the remote control. In short, I have no regrets and am enjoying the daily quiet whoosh of air during these hot summer days.
