Don't recommend for 12' ceilings
Too long IMO for 12' ceilings. puts fan 9' above your head. with 3' above. Re-ording for 22' rod

If I am going from the default 5" downrod to a 22", do I need to do anything to lengthen the wires?
Each downrod kit comes with everything needed to install the new downrod with your fan including the wires at the appropriate length.
