If Chuck Norris was a Big Ass Fan…
Well built and an absolute must-have for outdoor spaces. I was worried because there wasn’t much online defining how quiet it really is. Sitting 15’ - 20’ away, at 30% speed it is dead silent and gives a great breeze. At 60% it’s moving a ton of air but you can still carry on conversations. At full speed it’s a bit louder but it will blow the napkin off your lap. I’d bet money both my brother-in-law and father-in-law buy one.

Big Ass Fan SIDEKICK
We saw the ad's and jumped on the initial batch. This was our first BIG ASS FAN product and we are truly fans! We've tried all those "blah blah" bay fans as well as the usual depot/freight ones. They all fell short. It wasn't a matter of money, even the most expensive ones they carried, moved very little air.
Seems as though CFM and all these ratings aren't really accurately documented. It's almost like purchasing a car amp that has 100000watts and some blue neons in it. We thought all hope was lost until we stumbled onto this fan.
THIS BAD BOY IS AWESOME! We have a rectangle sized warehouse about 5000 sq ft. We have this thing right outside the main bay door blasting air in. It's crazy to say that even past half way in, you can still feel the fresh air. This was a little splurge of a purchase but worth every penny. We were debating on getting some of the ceiling ones, but this solved all our problems. Fresh air inside a muggy warehouse is the best.
The build quality of the fan is fantastic as well. Everything seemed quite nice, the packaging and unpacking was nice. Casters roll nicely as wel..
The ONLY thing I can say that is negative is the operating temp. On hot days, I'm scared to screw up the fan by operating it outside it's operating temp. I know what you're thinking, does it really matter? Some of their high models have a higher temperature rating.
Besides that, this thing is A W E S O M E. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking to cool down their warehouse. The fresh air is nice. If it's a little chilly out, the warehouse now gets too cold.
And I wish I had this 15% deal when we ordered..

Awesome!!!
This this thing is great. I bought the AirEye and that was a horrible mistake. The sidekick is superb. It is so quiet at high speeds. It is so easy to move around my garage. If it gets dirty, I can hose it down. If you have the space for this 4 foot diameter fan, then look no further. The SideKick is it. This should last me a lifetime.

Side Kick and Cool Space 200
My personal shop is 17 by 70 metal building. Has roll up doors on both ends a walk through door 25 feet from one end. I open one end of the shop and turn the fan on and can feel the air 70 feet away. Being a retired Army Warrant Officer I thought I would try putting the side kick in front of the cool space 200. Granted it was November in Florida and felt 10 degrees cooler with fan and cooler running together. My wife is a gardener, so I just built her a 24 x 45 She shed, she calls her "Hoe Hut" and will be purchasing from BAF again. Not sure the right solution yet, but may the young man that helped me before can help me again? For those that say too pricy, you're right, these are not made for those that stay to a budget. But if you like nice STUFF that isn't going to break down in two weeks, this is the company to buy from. You just need to stand in front of one of these fans and feel the air move you.

Should have bought sooner..
I should have bought this sooner, rarely have I had to use it past the half way setting on the fan speed..moves plenty of air in my 30 x 50 shop…really quiet also! You get what you pay for,this should last me for the rest of my life..thanks for making a great product..

The quintessential barrel fan!
I have been enjoying fans for most of my life. I love a running fan for the white noise it provides as well as for the air circulation. Missing my old 36” barrel fan I sold several years ago, I was recently in the market for a new purchase of something big. I researched for months when I finally came across Big Ass Fans' Sidekick. Wow! I was hooked the moment I saw it. Beautifully designed and engineered, it really is a work of art! When I read it had a direct-drive and brushless motor, I was in. There are no 1 or 2 speeds that your average barrel fan has. Instead, it uses a "fully adjustable variable speed control dial" that can give you a gentle summer breeze all the way up to a "JPL" wind tunnel. I had no idea I even wanted that variable dial until I got this fan and turned it on! Incredibly quiet compared to other barrel fans too. It can sound loud, but its sound is a sleek as its look. Kudos to whoever designed this thing!
I use this in a residential setting on the first floor of my small house (only because it's too big for me to get it upstairs in my bedroom). I only turn it up halfway now because of the power of the airflow--don't want it blowing pictures off my wall again. Even though I only turned it up halfway in a small house, it creates a welcome breeze throughout the entire downstairs with a comfortable white noise volume level as well. When I have this puppy running and stand next to it, I feel like a diver swimming in the ocean next to a huge powerful whale—this huge powerful machine is just doing its thing and I am co-existing with it. The closest thing to #WhiteNoiseZen I have found. Hey, I'm a guy and don't mind a 48" fan in my living room. Probably not the best choice for married couples. A great choice for your garage or factory floor—you and your people will love it! Is it worth the price? Yes!! It will not disappoint!
Full disclosure: I did purchase this when it was on sale. Still worth it!
